Making Comparisons

When it comes to shopping, be it for fireplaces Hamilton or St. Catharines' companies sell or real estate, you need to be a savvy consumer. You can't just walk into a hardware store and buy the first fireplace you see. You also can't go to only one Thornhill Ontario real estate property showing and buy it without seeing other homes on the market. Sure, you might immediately fall in love with the first fireplace or home you see but you'd be selling yourself short if you didn't look at other options.

When it comes to buying real estate, purchasing the first home or condo you see isn't the most prudent thing in the world to do. No matter how in love you are with a piece of St. Catharines or Lorne Park real estate don't let that cloud your judgment. The most likely scenario that will play out is that you will make an offer way above market value because you don't want to lose out on owning your dream home. While that is a scary proposition and one you'd like to avoid for the most part, don't let fear be your motivating factor.

You're going to want to feel confident about your real estate purchase. Whether you're looking at St. Catharines homes or Bay Street condos, do everything you can to make sure you come away with the property you want. Once you've finally gone to a number of home showings and have browsed enough St. Catharines or Toronto MLS ads and re ready to make an offer on one, work with your real estate agent to make the best possible offer. The more confident you are in your initial offer, the higher the chances the seller will accept it.

That means no lowball offer. The best way to make a confident bid is through research Take a look at other homes that are selling in the neighbourhood and see what they are going for. As well, see what homes in that area have sold for in the past. Making comparisons on the home you want to buy with other homes in the neighbourhood as well as homes that have sold in the past will give you an idea as to what the home you want is worth.

It's more than likely that the seller knows those figures too and has an inkling of what their home is worth. Use that information to your advantage to make a confident offer on their home that will be tough for them to refuse. The more research you and your real estate agent do, the better off you'll be. It doesn't take much to find out what you need to know either so you don't have that much work to do. Good luck!
